Really? My printer has two additional jobs, which it peforms quite well: collecting dust, and eating ink cartridges (the blue Doesn't Feel Like Printing Just Now, thanks, anyway, so everything's kind of pinkish-orange).
Larry: You, too! (Current theory is that a cable was causing the disruption, btw.)
Narya: Good point. Make it three jobs.
Printers have secret electronics so they can get messages from their manufacturer. When prices have increased (especially for cartridges) printers are signaled to act up. Thus hapless owners begin the search for a new printer - of course the newer ones have ink cartrifges the size of peas and will cost about $50. each.
