This was supposed to be a blog about extracting every ounce of pleasure from life, but it seems to be, in fact, largely a dream journal with notes on baking, Trader Joe's, and celebrity chefs.

Mini-Post
I found an article about interval training written for the layperson.
It's fun, you get MASSIVE ENDORPHINS. But really, truly: eat a good snack within half an hour of completing your intervals, or you may end up in tears, as I did. Because, the endorphin rush was so wonderful that I didn't feel hungry...
I stopped at the park district gym on the way home from work and signed up for the summer session (for a whole 50 dollars) so I can do intervals on the rowing machine. And then I actually DID some intervals.
It wasn't too bad--and I like that it's a shorter workout.
I suspect that I work harder following the instructor doing intense intervals on the DVD than I would left to my own devices. I'm one of those interactive learners. So, DVD and classes are good for me. I admire the likes of you who can push your workouts on your own!
Nope. Endorphin-free here. I like how exercise feels, and I especially like vigorous exercise and yoga (I recognize the benefits of walking, but it mostly tightens my hip and hamstrings), and I don't like how I feel when i don't get exercise, but no rushing involved.

I totally have to try this. I'm thinking I could do short rowing bursts. Of course, it would entail actually getting MY ASS TO THE GYM . . .

It's all your fault.

I don't really get endorphin rushes, though.
Hey, I'm glad to be blamed for such a thing!

PS You never get endorphin rushes? That's almost the whole reason I exercise. I'm an endorphin junkie.
